Shotover Jet and Arrowtown (13.3.2014)

We decided to take it easy today as we've had a very intense first couple of days. So we slept without alarm this time and "only" went for something called the "Shotover Jet" . Essentially, we went into a jet boat for a ride. The pilot went on really shallow water at 70-100 km/h and did funky 360° spins and sliding past rockwalls with only inches away. It felt rather cool :)

Prior to getting in, we chatted with a retired couple from Atlanta, Georgia. The guy was an ex-pilot and his commentary between childish screams made the journey even more fun.

Afterwards, we relaxed a little before we drove to Kawarau Bridge, the place of the first Bungee Jump ever, and booked Isi's second Bungee Jump for tomorrow before we make our way to Fox Glacier.

On the way back we went to a little village called Arrowtown. It is an old golddigger's town during the gold rush and the it's been made up to still look like during the gold rush in the late 1900s. It was a nice day so we went for an hour long walk there before we sat down on the balcony of our hotel room and sampled the white wine of this region (Dashwood Sauvignon Blank from Marlborough - 2013). Not too bad, especially with such a panoramic scenery ;)
